Oh girl you are tugging at my heart! And one of them already has the same name is my little Ruthie. Oh my. Do you know if children with hearing loss are hard to place or is that a special need that a lot of parents are open to?

Ginny,
Good question ! I would think that children with hearing loss are hard to place. But, it seems that children with unilateral microtia/atresia are placed very quickly now adays. Also, it seems more special needs children are coming home due to the decrease in healthy referrals. So, I am optimistic that more and more parents will be open to hearing loss. Especially with all the really cool technology available for hearing impaired children ! - June 24, 2011 at 7:06 PM

Kathy, if you see a little girl from Yunnan Province with hearing loss or deafness, PLEASE holler at me!!!
I have a feeling ... can't explain it ... but a PEACEFUL feeling ... I wonder the same as Ginny ... I think it is still a *hard-to-place* need.
And you know, it isn't really that hard from where I'm sitting. Remind me I said that when Li'l Dude gets his BAHA implanted. We're getting a rider on our homeowner's insurance ... we have visions of a soaking wet aid! He is a lively little boy!
Hope you are enjoying your summer and btw, your guys look so grown-up in the Father's Day pic! HUGS! - July 8, 2011 at 4:52 PM

Maggie Caroline was born Oct. 29, 2008.
She is in the SWI of Gaozhou City,China.
( Guangdong Province)
Ruthie was clearly a favorite of both the orphanage and our staff. She will be a wonderful addition to some lucky family!
