Images Of Adoption.

If you haven't checked out the new adoption website We Are Grafted In, then head on over and see what an encouragement this site is.  It's a Christian website/forum all about adoption ( International and Domestic).
The most recent post is titled Images of Adoption and there's a picture of Chuck and Maggie that I submitted.  I am so thankful for this site and for all the wonderful families I have met through the family stories and forums.

Yum, Yum Goldfish !

Posted by Picasa
It is still so amazing to me that Maggie is eating EVERYTHING now.  Yes, she was the little girl that didn't eat for three days in China, and then didn't want any kind of food near her for months.  I thought she would never eat regular food, much less something crunchy like goldfish.  We all suffered through her crying and pitching fits while I tried to feed her baby food from a spoon and massage her mouth with a nuk brush. It took a lot of tough love moments, but finally she gave in and starting eating.  Then, she started eating pizza, chicken and anything else she could get in her mouth.  It's like she couldn't get enough.

So now, Maggie will sit in her brother's bean bag chair and watch her favorite video, Baby Babble, while she snacks on goldfish.  It is the only time during the day that she is not clingy and will let me away from her sight. She is mesmerized by the video ( and it is great for her speech).

Wo Ai Ni ( I love you Mommy)

PBS has a documentary on adoption that is very good.  I watched it yesterday and cried the. entire. time.  It is about a family adopting an eight year old girl ( with special needs) from China.  The girl is from Guangdong province, which is where Maggie is from.  A lot of the footage of China is exactly what we saw and experienced.  Also, the Civil Affairs building in Guangdong where the family meets their daughter for the first time is also where we met Maggie for the first time. The movie shows the reality of adopting an older child and the struggles that both the little girl and her family have.  The movie is streaming online until Nov. 30, 2010.  Go here to watch it.

Happy Fifteenth Anniversary !

On 9-9-95, I married the love of my life, my best friend and the most wonderful Godly man.  Join us in celebrating our fifteenth anniversary.  Watch this video for some cheesy, sweet pictures of Chuck and me throughout the years.  The earliest picture is from 2002, when Will was born.  We did not have a digital camera back in the 90's and I am somewhat challenged in the photo scanning operations.  Enjoy !

In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:3
