We love History, so a chance to actually SEE some living history is a treat ! Saturday, we visited the Lee County Historical Society in Loachapoka, Alabama. There was blacksmithing, open hearth cooking, gardening, dulcimer music, gourd painting, and lots of other activites during the day. The feature activity was a group of local, Civil War enactors who set up their tent, displayed their weapons, and engaged in a little friendly fire. The group represented the 28th Alabama Infantry Company.

Love the boots!
My dearest Friend Kathern: I love what you are doing. It makes me want to homeschool all over again especially with the knowledge I have now. You make everything so fun and I am so proud of your perserverence through the tough times. These last few days kind of makes everything worth while doesn't it? I wonder if some of the struggles came from the enemy to distract you and Chuck from the spiritual breakthroughs that were coming in your house. So again, I praise God for your perserverence. Your boys are mighty men of God already and I love them both (& ya'll). LYL, Kathern's Friend Hope
I bet the boys had a great time!!
